JOB: COOK

This is an opportunity to work with our dedicated team who are opening the UK’s first community rock pub and venue. You will report to our Catering Manager.

The Sir Charles Napier (Blackburn) Community Interest Company is committed to continuing professional development; full and varied training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and serving high quality food from our menu in accordance with instructions and FSA regulations
  • Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen and equipment
  • Maintaining accurate daily FSA records
  • Following health and safety rules and other company policies
  • Communicating with line manager
  • Adhere to strict hygiene procedures

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL

  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Good command of spoken English
  • Clean and tidy appearance

DESIRABLE

  • Catering / Food Hygiene Qualification(s)

 

SALARY: £7.60 per hour, equivalent to £15,808 per annum, pro rata

HOURS: 15 hours per week; optional overtime may be available

START DATE: To be agreed, August-September 2016

CONTRACT: Permanent, subject to probationary period
